Little Lambs Village Preschool is a Christian, full-day preschool located in Gainesville, VA, serving children ages 33 months to 5 years old. We are a ministry of St. Thomas Anglican Church, and our mission is to “Celebrate God’s Gift of Childhood.”

We are looking for a Lead Teacher for our three-day, 3-year-old classroom who shares our values and dedication to creating a nurturing, faith-based environment for young children in our Half-Day Program (8:30 am to 1 pm) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Our preschool follows the Prince William County Public Schools calendar for holidays, teacher workdays, and inclement weather events. We begin our first day of school on August 26, 2026 and conclude on May 31, 2027. We offer a seven-week Summer Camp which you are encouraged to help us staff.

The pay rate is $21/hour and includes paid holidays and personal leave. The position is for 13.5 hours per week with additional paid time available.

Our Lead Teachers will:
  • Prepare and lead age-appropriate learning activities to foster the children’s social/emotional, physical, and educational development.
  • Work with our Children’s Pastor to prepare and lead lessons to foster the children’s spiritual development.
  • Document and communicate to parents their child’s progress towards pre-established developmental goals.
  • Ensure classroom compliance with preschool licensing requirements.
  • Supervise the classroom’s assistant teachers and provide guidance as needed.

Lead Teachers need to regularly bend, stoop, and crouch to physically interact with children and ensure their safety, as well as occasionally lift children or supplies throughout the day. Lead Teachers must be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers.

Qualified candidates will have previous classroom teacher experience working with preschool-age children. Ideal candidates will have a education in a child-related field, such as:
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Elementary Education degree
  • Montessori teaching diploma
  • One-year Early Childhood certificate (30 semester hours minimum)
