Redemption Diner

What is Redemption Diner? The Diner is like “meals on wheels” for residents who mainly reside in Fauquier County, and is a partnership ministry of St Thomas Anglican and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Catlett. We’ve been blessing folks in our community for 13 years with home baked meals on the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm. We meet at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church 8695 Old Dumfries Rd, Catlett, VA 20119.

We serve approximately 40 people each month, delivering to about 18 families each time. Most of our diners are elderly, and many are recuperating from illness or surgery. They have come to us by word of mouth in the community, have contacted us directly, and we have heard of others from church members. It is a blessing to see so many smiles when we roll around to deliver meals, and we have received many expressions of thanks from those we visit. God has continued to bless us with donations (our only source of income). Thanks to everyone who has helped support this ministry to our community!

Presently, we are continuing with our meal delivery! However, we now keep volunteers at a minimum for meal preparation and are diligent in wearing masks and gloves and keeping work surfaces sanitized.

Redemption Diner is usually held on the third Thursday of each month. We like to have folks on the road for delivery around 3:30 p.m. Most deliveries are in the Catlett area, with some in outlying areas like Warrenton and Nokesville. If anyone is interested in working along with us at Redemption Diner to either prepare meals or deliver them, they would be most welcome. Do you know someone who would be blessed by our ministry?

Contact Fred or Karen Pickrell for more information or to volunteer.
